Personal reflection · Vijay K. Ahuja
A continuing journey
of learning and service.
By Vijay K. Ahuja · October 2026
“For me, the journey of service has only just begun.”
For more than 40 years, my professional work has centered on retirement plans, financial education, and the choices people make for their future. That work has taught me the value of listening carefully and making complex ideas easier to understand.
A long personal health journey brought a different set of questions into my life. In February 2024, a personal awakening led me toward intensive independent study of food, traditional dietary practices, the microbiome, and whole-person resilience.
Making room for questions
I approach this work as an independent reader, researcher, and author. Personal experience gives me questions to investigate. Published literature helps me examine those questions with greater discipline. The two have different roles, and I believe it matters to keep that distinction clear.
My books—from The Awakening and Wellness in Balance to To Sprout or Not, To Ferment or Not to Ferment, and The Living Microbiome, with A Journey Through Your Microbiome to come—reflect different parts of that journey. This blog offers a more personal space to share the questions and reflections that surround the longer work.
What balance means to me
“Balance is not something to achieve; it is something to come back to. Wellness In Balance. Harmony In Nature.”
I want this space to hold both professional experience and the willingness to keep learning. Spirituality and seva—selfless service—are part of that purpose.
Thank you for joining me here.
May there always be balance and harmony in your life.
